"I've had a love of water activities from a young age and discovered my true calling when I started scuba diving. Since then I haven’t looked back. I love sharing my passion with new and experienced divers of all levels. In addition to teaching I am interested in underwater photography, technical diving, exploring new diving techniques and equipment. Most recently I have been diving a rebreather and exploring the possibilities it can provide. You will find me at the shop helping customers with their diving needs when I am not diving or teaching. Contact me."

PADI Course Directors hold the highest and most respected professional rating in recreational scuba diving. They are among the dive industry’s most influential opinion leaders and role models. I have been a diver since 1969 and have trained well over 500 instructors in the last 9 years. "I started diving in 2009 with Action Scuba, expecting to discover a new occasional hobby. Instead, I discovered a new passion and have been underwater ever since! Now, as an instructor and part owner of Action Scuba, I am fortunate enough to be able to spend time with most of our customers and students, and it is really rewarding to see new divers realise their dreams of learning to dive. Most weekends in summer you will find me on the boat helping to run our dive charters in the beautiful 1000 Islands. I also organise most of our events for our diver community and am always open to suggestions! Contact me."

I started diving in 2008, expecting to do a few dives a year on vacation down south, but it didn’t take long before ”a few dives” just wasn’t enough. My underwater interests include wrecks, small critters (especially shrimp and jawfish) and dabbling in underwater photography.

"I am a PADI Master Scuba Dive Trainer and I have had the pleasure to be associated with Action Scuba for many years now. My love for the ocean realm is what drove to be who I am today. Besides teaching scuba diving, I work as a Marine Biologist. It is in good part thanks to my dive training at Action Scuba that I have achieved great things in my life and professional career. It is a lot of fun and a great source of pride for me to witness and take active part in the progression of an individual to become a proficient, skilled and safe scuba diver. My main interests are underwater photography, tropical scuba diving and diving the wrecks in and around Brockville, Ontario which I consider without a doubt the best freshwater diving in the world. Come join us for a great time underwater this summer! "

Throughout the years I've earned many different certifications; I became an Open Water Scuba Instructor in 2004 at the age of 19, and then spent 2004-2005 working as a dive instructor for Club Med. Since then I've gotten married and now have a wonderful little girl. Between my family and regular day job I still try and get out diving as often as I can or teach for Action Scuba."

Watching Cousteau’s adventures made me dream about diving the oceans around the world. I decided to realize my dream in 2005, and since then, I have been diving but also learning how to be a better diver the PADI way, and I share my passion in becoming a Pro at Action Scuba. You might find me in Brockville helping and teaching, but also learning and diving new specialty courses.
Rob Wennington
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, EFR Instructor
Scuba diving is my passion, and I enjoy introducing new divers to the sport. I spend almost every weekend diving in the 1000 Islands, exploring the many shipwrecks.
Marc Halpert
PADI Specialty Instructor 330478, EFR Instructor, FQAS Mandataire
I obtained my Open Water certification in 1992, my Advanced Open Water in 2008, and enjoyed recreational diving throughout the Caribbean and West Coast. Purchasing a new log book in 2012 at Action Scuba changed my life forever! Gary and the excellent staff at Action Scuba persuaded me to give the Rescue Diver course a shot and I have never had so much fun. Master Diver, Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor, and now Specialty Instructor followed shortly and I now have the opportunity to share my love of all things underwater with students. My greatest joy comes from watching anticipation turn to passion, and the look on their faces as they draw their first breath underwater!

After being certified as an Open Water Diver in 2012 in Mauritius, I knew I had found a new passion. I wanted to dive all the time! My favorite dive destination in the world is the West Coast of Mauritius. I also love doing underwater photography.

Hello everyone, I am André Lavoie MSDT with Action Scuba Instructor. I have been diving since 2004, which gives me more than 500 dives under my belt. In November 2006 I was DiveMaster and I also ran Charters in Brockville, I have therefore seen many divers and instructors on my boat. In September 2008, I became Assistant Instructor. I got my rank of instructor in September 2013. Today, I am instructor ¨Master Scuba Diver Trainer¨ (MSDT). I can give the Open Water to DiveMaster and also the courses of Primary Care. I can also give courses in specialties such as: Nitrox, Wreck, Night, Drifting, Dry Suit and Deep diving. It would be a pleasure to meet you and train you as good diver. Why I chose Action Scuba? It is for the professionalism with which they form the divers, the rigor of the courses and standards to which they adhere. All, with the pleasure of sharing a common passion: diving safely.

I have been scuba diving since 2001. My diving career started in Israel when I was 10 years old at the Dolphin Reef in Eilat. I became an Open Water Scuba Instructor in October 2013. My favourite types of dives are Wreck and Night dives. I believe that scuba diving has a lot to offer to a person’s life and I am always looking to share this with others. See you in the water soon…

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor 350929, EFR Instructor #350929
I became a certified PADI diver in 2003 and an PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in 2014. It’s a passion I share with my wife and friends. I’ve had the opportunity to dive all over the world with my fondest memories coming from the Great Barrier Reef. It has always been important to me to give back as much as I have taken and that’s why I love to help others discover the wonders of scuba diving. The look in their eyes the first time is priceless. If I had to choose a particular aspect I appreciate the most it would be digital underwater photography
George Yeh
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor 319018
I am an open water scuba instructor who has a diverse diving resume including dives in the U.S., South Africa, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, the Caribbeans, Mozambique and Canada. Prior to joining Action Scuba, I worked on liveaboards in Thailand as a divemaster, trip leader and snorkel guide. I really enjoy looking for small creatures underwater and taking macro photography. My most memorable dives were coming face to face with playful sea lions in Capetown and diving with a pod of wild dolphins in Bonaire. PADI certified since 2001, I dream of one day running my own dive shop in tropical waters.
Sam Kawtharani
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
Watching a bunch of divers do a safety stop while I was snorkelling in the red sea was magical. I remember looking down from the surface with a huge smile on my face as I discovered my true calling and passion. I started diving in 2008 and had the opportunity to explore the Red Sea and Mediterranean regions. In the summer of 2013, I joined Action Scuba’s team to become a Divemaster and I am enjoying every part of this journey. I love to do deep and wreck dives and you will find me in Brockville diving or helping on courses. Diving is Life, the rest is a Surface Interval

I started scuba diving at the age of 11 while on vacation with my family in the Bahamas and after my first experience I was hooked! The serenity of the ocean, the colours of the coral, the amazing shipwrecks and the variety of species have never ceased to amaze me. I began diving with Action Scuba in 2011 and am now a Dive Master, DSD Leader and an EFR instructor. I take great pleasure in sharing my passion for diving with new divers and am regularly found at the pool giving the Discover Scuba Diving course or in Brockville helping out on a variety of courses.

Be it a Crawfish on the shipwreck of the Conestoga, a Greenland Shark in Baie Comeau a Scrawled Filefish in Mexico, or a cuttlefish in the Mediterranean I am obsessed with all the rivers and oceans have to offer. Since certification in 2003, I have spent over 1400 hours underwater. I love underwater photography and hunting for antique bottles on the river bottom - any excuse to get in the water. 70% of the earth is water. Join us in its exploration. If you have a question, we can answer it. Guaranteed.

We were on vacation in the south in 2009 when my 12 year old son announced that he wanted to learn to scuba dive. His interest in diving teased my interest as well. I have been diving with the professionals at Action Scuba since 2010, every year achieving one more level of certification. I am now a certified Divemaster and love to assist and share my passion on as many courses as possible. I really enjoy doing Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) classes; as the look on people’s faces when they take their first breath under water is so very thrilling. I am looking forward to meeting you at the pool, Brockville or aboard the Action Scuba dive boat “Got Air”. Happy and safe diving.
