Besides teaching scuba diving, I work as a Marine Biologist. It is in good part thanks to my dive training at Action Scuba that I have achieved great things in my life and professional career. It is a lot of fun and a great source of pride for me to witness and take active part in the progression of an individual to become a proficient, skilled and safe scuba diver. My main interests are underwater photography, tropical scuba diving and diving the wrecks in and around Brockville, Ontario which I consider without a doubt the best freshwater diving in the world. Come join us for a great time underwater this summer! "

Marc Halpert

PADI Specialty Instructor 330478, EFR Instructor, FQAS Mandataire

I obtained my Open Water certification in 1992, my Advanced Open Water in 2008, and enjoyed recreational diving throughout the Caribbean and West Coast. Purchasing a new log book in 2012 at Action Scuba changed my life forever! Gary and the excellent staff at Action Scuba persuaded me to give the Rescue Diver course a shot and I have never had so much fun. Master Diver, Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor, and now Specialty Instructor followed shortly and I now have the opportunity to share my love of all things underwater with students. My greatest joy comes from watching anticipation turn to passion, and the look on their faces as they draw their first breath underwater!

I have been scuba diving since 2001. My diving career started in Israel when I was 10 years old at the Dolphin Reef in Eilat. I became an Open Water Scuba Instructor in October 2013. My favourite types of dives are Wreck and Night dives. I believe that scuba diving has a lot to offer to a person’s life and I am always looking to share this with others. See you in the water soon…

Andre Morneau

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor 350929, EFR Instructor #350929

I became a certified PADI diver in 2003 and an PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in 2014. It’s a passion I share with my wife and friends. I’ve had the opportunity to dive all over the world with my fondest memories coming from the Great Barrier Reef. It has always been important to me to give back as much as I have taken and that’s why I love to help others discover the wonders of scuba diving. The look in their eyes the first time is priceless. If I had to choose a particular aspect I appreciate the most it would be digital underwater photography

George Yeh

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor 319018

I am an open water scuba instructor who has a diverse diving resume including dives in the U.S., South Africa, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, the Caribbeans, Mozambique and Canada. Prior to joining Action Scuba, I worked on liveaboards in Thailand as a divemaster, trip leader and snorkel guide. I really enjoy looking for small creatures underwater and taking macro photography. My most memorable dives were coming face to face with playful sea lions in Capetown and diving with a pod of wild dolphins in Bonaire. PADI certified since 2001, I dream of one day running my own dive shop in tropical waters.

Sam Kawtharani

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor

Watching a bunch of divers do a safety stop while I was snorkelling in the red sea was magical. I remember looking down from the surface with a huge smile on my face as I discovered my true calling and passion. I started diving in 2008 and had the opportunity to explore the Red Sea and Mediterranean regions. In the summer of 2013, I joined Action Scuba’s team to become a Divemaster and I am enjoying every part of this journey. I love to do deep and wreck dives and you will find me in Brockville diving or helping on courses. Diving is Life, the rest is a Surface Interval

Jen Ankcorn

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor #332148, EFR Instructor

I started scuba diving at the age of 11 while on vacation with my family in the Bahamas and after my first experience I was hooked! The serenity of the ocean, the colours of the coral, the amazing shipwrecks and the variety of species have never ceased to amaze me. I began diving with Action Scuba in 2011 and am now a Dive Master, DSD Leader and an EFR instructor. I take great pleasure in sharing my passion for diving with new divers and am regularly found at the pool giving the Discover Scuba Diving course or in Brockville helping out on a variety of courses.

Jason Xenakis

Be it a Crawfish on the shipwreck of the Conestoga, a Greenland Shark in Baie Comeau a Scrawled Filefish in Mexico, or a cuttlefish in the Mediterranean I am obsessed with all the rivers and oceans have to offer. Since certification in 2003, I have spent over 1400 hours underwater. I love underwater photography and hunting for antique bottles on the river bottom - any excuse to get in the water. 70% of the earth is water. Join us in its exploration. If you have a question, we can answer it. Guaranteed.

Steve Chyzenski

PADI Divemaster 355161, PADI Master Scuba Diver

We were on vacation in the south in 2009 when my 12 year old son announced that he wanted to learn to scuba dive. His interest in diving teased my interest as well. I have been diving with the professionals at Action Scuba since 2010, every year achieving one more level of certification. I am now a certified Divemaster and love to assist and share my passion on as many courses as possible. I really enjoy doing Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) classes; as the look on people’s faces when they take their first breath under water is so very thrilling. I am looking forward to meeting you at the pool, Brockville or aboard the Action Scuba dive boat “Got Air”. Happy and safe diving.

Nicolas Lemee

PADI Divemaster 332147

I have been certified here at AS since July 2010. In addition to all the courses required to become a Divemaster, I have the equipment specialist, drift, deep, wreck, sidemount and enriched air specialties. I plan to get into Technical Diving in the coming year. I sometimes drive the 'Got Air' and you can often see me at the pool or around the shop helping around. My favorite local dives are any of our Chartered drift dives that we have in the Thousand Islands.

Jonathan Rush

Store consultant

The ocean had always fascinated me but it was not until I actually got in it that I understood its magnitude and its beauty. Since i started diving at the age of 16, I have spent as much time as possible in and around the ocean or learning about everything there is to know about it. I'm majoring in Biology at McGill, having dove with sharks of the east coast of Rhode Island, having spent time in the Caribbean doing my very own research on fish communities and population dynamics and trying to dive as much as possible in the mean time. Diving is one of the coolest things to do because every time its going to be different, something is going to catch your eye and take over your imagination. In short, it's purely amazing and I LOVE IT!

Chris Leigh

PADI Divemaster , Technician & store consultant

I have been diving for 7 years and have just become a DiveMaster. I have the several specialties including deep diver, drift diver and dry suit diver and plan to continue my education in diving . Also I am working on becoming a service technician and hope to be able to service on my own one day.

Sam Skinner

Store consultant

I started diving when I was 11 years old and haven’t stopped since. I absolutely love exploring underwater and spending my surface intervals with the great people I have met through this sport. Wrecks are my favourite things to dive because of the unique story possessed by each one. My all time favourite dive was the USS Kittiwake in Grand Cayman.
