PADI Instructor Exam (IE) in Montreal
Montreal is one of the lucky Canadian cities to have regularly scheduled PADI Instructor Exams (IE), right here in our city.
3 times a year, PADI staff fly into town for a weekend to administer the PADI Instructor Exam, which is a 2 day test that all PADI scuba instructor candidates must pass.
The PADI IE includes:
- A written exam, to ensure that you have mastered and are able to teach all of the dive theory to your own students and that you understand all of the PADI teaching standards
- A practical assessment of your presentation skills
- A practical assessment of your in-water teaching skills in the pool
-
A practical assessment of your in-water teaching skills in open water (normally at Pointe-des-Cascades)

You may take the IE in English or French. If neither of these languaged are your mother tongue, please let us know in advance so that we may accomodate you.
Although much is made of passing the PADI IE, the truth is that if your instructor training is strong, then the IE is just a formality. Your focus should really be on becoming the best PADI Instructor possible, so that you can deliver high quality teaching and ensure that your students are well trained. By learning those skills, passing the IE will be a breeze.
Action Scuba's Instructor Development Course (IDC) will not just help you pass the exam, but will truly prepare you for teaching scuba. Talk to us to learn more. We'll be there to coach you all the way to victory!
