Scuba Diving Programs for Kids & Teenagers

Scuba diving is a fantastic way to teach kids to truly appreciate their planet, the environment and nature.
At Action Scuba we offer some great kids' programs, ranging from a 2 hour fun scuba tryout experience, to a full certification course and junior scuba diver training.
We also donate our time to local schools and organisations who would like us to come talk about scuba diving and the link to our oceans, marine life and the environment. Ask us to come to your school.
Some of the scuba diving programs available for kids:
PADI Bubblemaker
A fun introductory scuba experience where kids get to try scuba diving in a pool and have fun playing underwater in shallow water. This is very similar to the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience except that it is tailored for children and only takes place in the shallow end. Parents may join in alongside their children as a Discover Scuba Diving participant.
- Minimum Age: 8 years old.
PADI Seal Team
A more complete scuba diving course where kids ages 8 and older complete five fun underwater AquaMissions as they learn the basic scuba diving skills in a safe pool environment under the direct supervision of our expert instructors. This course prepares younger kids well to eventually complete the Junior Open Water Diver certification.
- Minimum Age: 8 years old.
PADI Master Seal Team
A continuation of the Seal Team where participants complete an additional 10 specialty AquaMissions and independently assemble and disasemble dive equipment, all under the direct supervision of our expert instructors. This course prepares younger kids well to eventually complete the Junior Open Water Diver certification.
- Minimum Age: 8 years old
A fun introductory scuba experience where kids get to try scuba diving in a pool and have fun playing underwater in shallow water and then progress to the deep end of a pool. This is the same experience as for adults, and parents are welcome to join in with their children for a fun family activity.
- Minimum Age: 10 years old.
PADI Junior Open Water Diver
Participants complete the exact same course as the adults to earn their PADI Open Water Diver certification. Once certified, kids under the age of 12 are subject to depth limitations and must dive with a certified diver parent or PADI professional, while kids under the age of 15 are subject to depth limations and must dive with an adult certified diver.
- Minimum Age: 10 years old.
PADI Scuba Review
This review session allows participants who are already certified divers, including Junior divers, to refresh and practice their scuba skills in the pool with one of our instructors or divemasters. This is a great way to refresh before a trip, after a period of not diving, or when upgrading from a Junior diver rating to a full diver rating.
- Minimum Age: 10 years old
PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
Following the same course as the adult program, Junior Advanced Open Water Divers may not dive beyond 70 feet until they are 15 years old.
- Prerequisite: PADI Junior Open Water Diver
- Minimum Age: 12 years old
PADI Junior Rescue Diver
Following the same course as the adult Rescue Diver program, Junior Rescue Divers learn the critical elements of self-rescue and rescuing others and make ideal diving partners. They may not dive beyond 70 feet until they are 15 years old.
- Prerequisite: PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
- Minimum Age: 12 years old
PADI Junior Master Scuba Diver
The most coveted and exclusive of all scuba certifications for kids, this rating is awarded to kids between the ages of 12 and 14 who have achieved the following:
- PADI Junior Open Water Diver
- PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
- PADI Junior Rescue Diver
- Certified in 5 PADI specialties
- Logged 50 dives

- Basic requirements: All participants require parental consent and must be able to swim.
- We offer most of these courses on a monthly basis at the Lasalle Aquadome. We can also organise private events and can even bring the course to your pool.
- All of the above courses can be purchased as gifts.
- We can also run any of the above scuba courses and experiences as a birthday party or a group event for schools, Scouts, and other organisations.
