Whether you want to dive on your vacations down south, or explore our historic local waterways, your training with Action Scuba will ensure that you’ll be a safe and confident scuba diver wherever you go. And of course, you`ll have fun while learning!
Course Description
Our expert instructors will guide you through 5 pool dives followed by 4 dives in the open water, during which you’ll master twenty basic scuba diving skills. Your practical learning will be complemented by instructor led theory sessions which you can opt to replace with online eLearning for added flexibility.
At the end of the course, your globally recognized PADI certification will allow you to dive in open water anywhere, to a depth of up to 18 metres or 60 feet.
And to celebrate becoming a certified scuba diver, we`ll take you for your first post-certification dive on one of the popular local shipwrecks as an added bonus!*
This will give you an excellent foundation to start scuba diving and prepare you to continue on to the next level with our PADI Advanced Open Water diver course, which will enable you to dive to depth of up to 30 metres or 100 feet, sample some exciting adventure dives and fine tune your scuba skills.
Combining both your Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses ensures that you'll go beyond just learning the basics and will become a much more capable, confident and safe diver. This will also get you started on the path to becoming a Master Scuba Diver, your ultimate goal as a recreational diver. Plus you can save up to $200 by combining your Advanced and your Open Water courses.
Prerequisites
10 years of age for Junior Open Water Diver and 15 years for Open Water Diver. Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water.
Equipment
Equipment you'll use during the course includes: Ait tank, regulator, buoyancy compensator (BCD), submersible pressure gauge and exposure protection plus your personal mask, fins and snorkel. You may also try a special underwater dive computer with our Premium or VIP package.
Please note that unlike many other dive centres, we include your equipment rental for both the pool and open water certification weekends in the price of your course so that there are no surprises. This includes a wetsuit for the pool, which will help you stay warm while practicing your skills. Your comfort and safety are our primary concern.
Training with options
Not all of us learn the same way or have the same needs. That’s why we took the standard entry level diving certification course (PADI Open Water) and added other features and services to offer you two additional packages that are exclusive to Action Scuba. These give you exceptional value, especially if you plan on diving locally. You can also add one of our Advanced Course packages to increase your skills and become certified for deeper dives.

Our Open Water certification weekends in Brockville includes the option for students to join us on our dive boat, Got Air, for a free dive on the Robert Gaskin, one of the most popular dive sites in the 1000 Islands, following their certification.
